Phillip Trice Obituary
Phillip Theo Trice was born to Mr. and Mrs. Larnell (Inez) Trice on April 12, 1953 in Akron, Ohio. He went home to be with his Heavenly Father on September 14, 2015.
He served proudly in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1977. He worked as a union ironworker with for 30 years. Phillip never stopped enjoying life, traveling, meeting people. His family and friends meant the world to him.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Charlotte Trice; brothers, Mark and Keith Trice. He is survived by his brothers, Raynard Trice of Akron and Anthony (Loretta) Trice Charlottesville, N.C.; sisters, Francine Lewis and Sharon Trice and of Akron; daughters, Ashley (Ebony) Henderson of Houston, Texas and April Blue of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Ty Blue, Briauna Reed, Victoria Richmond, Kayden Keels and Kingston (The Boy) Henderson; uncle, Edmond Johnson of Deltona, Fla.; aunt, Nora Trice of Nashville, Tenn.; along with a host of family and friends. All of Phillip's loving nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart. He had an extra close relationship with Kevin Trice- better known as "his sidekick".
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, 44307. Minister Michael Starks, Eulogizing. Friends may visit at the chapel 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences can be sent to 856 S. Hawkins Ave., Akron, OH 44320.

Phil was a great friend to have. He worked in a hard trade that sometimes didn't treat him fairly. But he always took whatever life through at him with a smile I'm proud to have known him and worked with him. I will miss him and his great sense of humor

Trice family,
I have known Phillip since grade school but had not seen him in a number of years. As I saw his obituary my sorrow turned to a smile as I remembered his consistant laugh as he talked "plenty junk". I always knew when I saw Phillip I would be sure to walk away with a smile. I am praying that through your tears you too will be reminded of the good times you have shared. Embrace and encourage one another. I am praying for you!

Keith and I shared some wonderful times with Phillip full of fun, laughter, good food etc. We are truly going to miss him, but knowing he is resting in the arms of Jesus and is at peace gives us joy.
