Richard Stambaugh Obituary

Richard Charles Stambaugh, age 53, died unexpectedly but peacefully on March 1, 2010 at his home in Findlay, Ohio.

Richard was born in Rockville Centre, N.Y. to Dean and Dorothy (Fink) Stambaugh. He was preceded in death by his father (also of Findlay). He is survived by his mother; brothers, Robert (Barbara) of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Alan (Karen) of Akron, Ohio; his children, Emily (24) of Chicago, Ill. and Brad (18) of Holland, Ohio; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Richard attended Copley High School in Copley, Ohio where he met the love of his life, Melinda Snyder and formed many life-long friendships. Richard achieved the rank of Eagle Scout while living in Fairlawn, Ohio. He studied Industrial Engineering at Ohio University and was proud of a long career in the automotive industry. Warm-hearted, hard-working, and creative by nature, he enjoyed fishing, golfing and craftwork among a long list of interests. He found beauty in all things, was a friend to all people, and above all, committed his heart to his children.

Long absent from my life, but never from my heart. I have heard it said that old friends will certainly meet again, so til then I wait, hope and go on in a world that seems a bit darker for the loss of such a bright light. Farewell for now my dear friend.
