Roger Caplinger Obituary
Roger Caplinger, 70, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 10, 2016.
Born in Akron, Ohio on April 27, 1945 to Marvin and Margaret (Cobb) Caplinger, he served in the U.S. Air Force and attended Akron U. His favorite job was working for J. Parker and Sons as a truck driver. He devoted his life to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and his life verse was Acts 1:8.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Roseann; daughter, Lisa (Joe) Waldeck of Las Vegas; son, David (Carolyn) of Brimfield; stepchildren, Rene (Mark) Golden and Bill McGaffick of Akron; grandchildren, Nick, Jesse, Joli, Tyler, Paige, Joey, Hannah, and Andrea; brothers, Dennis (Susy) of California, Larry of Utah; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Bath Creek Estates as well as Harbor Light Hospice Services for the compassionate care Roger received.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m., with Brother Dennis Caplinger officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

ROSEANN AND FAMILY. SO SORRY TO HEAR OF ROGER'S PASSING, BUT WE KNOW THAT HE IS IN HEAVEN WITH A NEW BODY AND REJOICING WITH JESUS. WE OFTEN THINK OF THE MISSIONS TRIPS TO MONGOLIA AND THAT TRAIN RIDE OVER THE GOBI DESERT. WE ESPECIALLY REMEMBER HOW HOT IT WAS COMING BACK INTO CHINA AND SOMEHOW ROGER GOT ICE FOR A COLD DRINK. HOW HE KEPT THE ICE CUBES FROZEN IS A MIRACLE, AND GOING TO THAILAND WITH YOU. GOD HAS USED ROGER AND YOU IN SO MANY WAYS AND I KNOW YOU WILL MISS HIM. WE PRAY THAT GOD WILL BRING YOU COMFORT AND PEACE AT THIS TIME. IT WAS A PRIVILAGE KNOWING ROGER AND SHARING IN A SMALL PART MINISTERING WITH HIM. HE WAS TRULY A BLESSING.

Dear Roseann,
How sorry we were to hear of your loss of Roger but we know it's Heaven's gain. What a testimony Roger had and what a faithful servant he was. It was our great pleasure to have known him. He was a perfect employee and great addition to our little company. We were always amazed to hear and read about his ministry and I think we'll all be shocked to see the souls in heaven because of his witness. We are thankful that we had an opportunity to know him and look forward to seeing him again when we all have a new healthy body! In the meantime, we'll be thinking of you and praying for you.
