Rosetta Barnes

Rosetta Barnes, 74, , of Akron passed away on August 27, 2021. She attended Boheckers Business College to be a paralegal and retired from General Electric. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and she loved fast cars, travel, cooking and throwing parties. Rosetta was preceded by her parents, Ralph and Ila Barnette; brother, John Barnette and sister, Wynetta Cowger. She is survived by her son, Joe Barnes; daughter, Kim Sweet; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. on Friday at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Dave McBee, followed by burial at Lakewood Cemetery. Calling hours are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
