Sharon Short Obituary
Sharon Lee Short, 74, of Atwater, passed away on January 15, 2019. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia on June 4, 1944 to the late Delbert and Lucille Hagley. Sharon was fond of the outdoors and especially enjoyed camping. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Short Sr. and brother, Delbert Hagley Jr. She will be dearly missed by her sons, Randy (Angie) Edwards and Kenneth (Christina) Short Jr.; grandchildren, Randy Edwards Jr., Ashley Williams, Kenneth Short III (Tina Bucci), Samantha (David) Kurtz, and Emily Short; great-grandchildren, Landon, Carolyn, Nicole and one on the way; and partner and companion, Daniel Blake. Visitation will be held TODAY, Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 11 to 12 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, followed by a procession to Greenlawn Memorial Park for a committal service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society. Mom, it has been almost a year since youve been gone and Im still trying to come to terms with your passing. It seems to get a little harder as the days goes by. I just wish I could speak to you one more time. You were the best mother and grandmother anyone could have. Im sure in time it will get better but for now I just feel like a empty lost soul. Its just hard right now with family and friends dying all around me. But seeing my new beautiful granddaughters smile gives me the strength to pull myself from from this dark place Im in right now. I just hope I can be the man you raised me to be and the grandfather she surely deserves. I love you mom and I will never forget you. I will see you in heaven some day.
