Thomas S. App

Thomas S. App passed away peacefully on April 23, 2013 of brain cancer in Kerrville, Texas, where he lived with his wife, Sherry Williams.

Tom was born on January 5, 1943 in Sacramento, Calif., and grew up in Akron. He graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School and Creighton University, then entered into the insurance business in Cincinnati, Denver, and Kerrville. Tom and Sherry left Denver together in 2003, chasing milder climates and a slower pace of life in Kerrville, where Tom enjoyed getting to know the folks at the grocery store and the golf course.

Predeceased by father, Bud App of Akron. He leaves behind his wife, Sherry Williams of Kerrville, Texas; mother, Joan App of Akron; children, Michael App, (Becky, grandsons, Graham and Jay) of Omaha, NE, Courtney App of Lakewood, Colo., Kelley App of Ventura, Calif., Christopher App of Seattle, Wash.; brother, Timothy App (Theresa Bedoya) of Baltimore, Md.; sister, Christine Smerick (Joseph) of Akron; aunts, Louise Traczyk of Big Spring, Texas and Barbara App Schweitzer (Richard) of Amherst, Mass.; first wife, Barbara App of Englewood, Colo.; nieces/nephew Jenna App, Anchorage, Alaska, Matthew Smerick, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Jessica Smerick, St. Petersburg, Fla.
