Thomas Maselli Obituary

Thomas "Tom" Maselli

Thomas "Tom" Maselli passed away in the presence of his loving family on June 8, 2007 after a brif illness.

Tom was born in Akron, Ohio on October 9, 1920 and spent his entire life in the area.

Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy; and all of his siblings. He is survived by his sons, Tim Maselli (Anne) of Fairlawn, Rick Maselli (Kelle) of Fairlawn; daughter, Pat Quatraro (Carl) of Fairlawn; grandchildren, Timmy Maselli, Jim Maselli (Stacy), Jason Maselli, Rick Quatraro, Casey Maselli, Jeanine Maselli, Melissa Bazil (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Jordan, Evan, Gary, Jay, Tony, Ambria, Gina, (and grandchildren to be Vanessa and Trey); and many nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends.

He was so much in love with his wife, Nancy, that although she passed away in 1985, he remained loyal to her for the remainder of his life. Most people knew Tom as one of the premier home builders in the area. For over 60 years he built thousands of new homes and additions and was proud of the quality he provided and the many friends he made. Even at ae 86, he remained active in the building trade until he became ill earlier this year. Most noted among his qualities was his generosity. Not only did he help others financially, but the way he gave of his time to others, touched the lives of more people than we may ever know. Although he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends, his memory will be in our hearts forever.

Cousins Tim, Rick, & Patty,
My thoughts & prayers are with you during this time. Uncle Tom will always be loved deeply as well as Aunt Nancy. There must be a celebration in heaven as they are now together in Paradise.
I will always have very special & happy childhood memories of your visits to San Diego with your Dad's stories & humor; his delicious shish kabob & antipasto salads; he sure had a way of lighting up a room. He'll always be remembered for his endless generosity, love of others, and enjoyment of life.

Rick, Patti, Tim,

I wanted to let you know how much we loved your Dad and Mom! We always felt so close to them all through the years. When your mom passed we remained close with Uncle Tom and felt like he was part of our immediate family.

We will miss him very much but we are glad he is with your Mom again.

I will cherish the times Uncle Tom came over to visit me and we would sit on my porch and talk.

We hope you feel the peace of knowing that your Dad was surely greeted by our Blessed Lord and heard the words we all hope to hear when our time comes.
"Well done...well done my good and faithful servant enter into the joy of your master's house"

God Bless you always,
Chris and Liane

Patty,Rick and Tim,
I was so saddened to hear of Uncle Tom's passing, it has been a few years since we seen him last.As I reflect on years past I remember waiting at the train station, for your visits. The years have passed so fast. We enjoyed his visits in the later years he was always up for a game of Zilch and ready to hammer and nail any repairs or projects the families in California would get him into.
He was a very talented man, and a very devoted son, father, and brother. I share your loss, Now all of the Maselli children are together again how special for those of us left behind to have such gurdian angels looking over us. Let his memory get you through the days ahead and, know our heartfelt thoughts are with you all.
Love
Andrea and the few left here in califoria!!!

On behalf of my family and myself, I can't express enough our gratitude for the hundreds of people that came to the funeral home and for all those that attended the funeral service for my dad.

He truly left behind a legacy to so many people. It felt at times that many felt his loss as much as the family did.

What a blessing it is to know that he has touched so many with his kindness and generosity and to think that each house he built or remodeled will be left here as a memorial of not only the fine work he did but also of the fine person he was.

I am so thankful to have had him as my father and to be son.

Rick, Tim and Pat,

The memories of your dad will live forever in the hearts of everyone who's lives he touched. Uncle Tom was always my favorite uncle, a friend, a mentor, a role model and often a second father. Every memory of him brings a smile to my face. Love of his family, devotion, generosity, a strong work ethic, and a wonderful sense of humor, characterized a man I considered in many ways to be the patriarch of the family. Was there even a single member of the family who was not touched by his love and generosity at some point in their lives?

As a boy, a visit from the Maselli's or a trip to visit your family in Akron were among my fondest and most cherished memories. As an adult, the few years I spent living there and working with your dad served to strengthen my ties with all of you, and left me with liftime of wonderful new memories as well.

I will miss Uncle Tom everyday, but will also be grateful for having the privelage and blessing to have him
hold a very prominent part in my life. He and your mom will remain in my heart forever.
My love to all of you.

To All Maselli's. I new Jason's grandfather through my friendship with Jason. I didn't know him as Tom or Mr. Maselli for that matter. Only new that he was a hard working common sense business man. Just like my dad. So that makes him pretty damn special in my book. I hope the family recognizes that it is a time to celebrate Tom's life and accomplishments. There are many ways to count them. Rick and Jason are not just "chips off the old block" they are chunks. My heartfelt
condolences to all.

Tom, Although I only just met you a few years ago,you have had a large impact on my life. I learned from you and am now on a path I would not be on if I had not had the good fortune to meet and work with you. And although we did have some fun at your expense, like requoting some of your famous lines, "Here, let a man in there that knows what he wants to do", and other things you would say, I am glad to have crossed paths, and am honored to have known you.
