Thurle Boyer Obituary

Thurle D. Boyer

Thurle D. Boyer, 83, died unexpectedly April 19, 2004.

Born in Akron, she had been a resident of Medina since 1961. Mrs. Boyer worked 52 years as a secretary for the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. and as administrative assistant to Mrs. Harvey Firestone Jr. She was formerly a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Medina Presbyterian Church, and volunteered for Medina General Hospital for over 25 years.

Preceded in death by husband, Charles A., in 1971, she is survived by son, Allen M. III; and daughter, Laurie, both of Medina; brother, Ralph Dauber of Akron; sister, Rotha Riggenbach (Ray) of Columbus Grove; nieces and nephews, Paul Dauber (Donna), Carl Dauber (Lilly), David Dauber, Nancy Leatherman (Gene), Becky Brady (Jim), Timothy Boyer (Kathi), and Cynthia Bucklin (Barry); numerous other relatives and friends; and faithful com panions, Tiger and Emmy Lou.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. SATURDAY at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1250 W. Exchange St., with the Rev. Dr. Clifford J. Hayes officiating. Private interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the church one hour before service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medina General Hospital Foundation, 1000 E. Washington St., Medina 44256. (Billow FAIRLAWN Cha pel, 330-867-4141.)

My family and I will miss Thurle Boyer. We loved her and she loved us. She taught me how to behave as a business woman, that I should wear an apron when cooking (I still don't), that dessert is a very important part of the meal, to make time in a busy life for bridge club and volunteering and so much more.
