Wendell V. Wallace, 83, passed away December 17, 2004.

Wendell, known by family and friends as "Bob", was born on April 14, 1921 in Lawrence County, Ohio. He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a staff sergeant in the 103rd Infantry Division of the 7th Army.

Wendell was employed by the Veteran's Administration Hospital from 1946 until his retirement in 1980. He then worked at Silver Lake in Stow, Ohio for almost 20 years. He was a member of the American Le gion, the Stow Community Garden Club, and was past president of the Woodridge Booster Club. Wendell was active in the Montrose Zion United Methodist Church and was a resident of Fairlawn and Cuyahoga Falls since 1965.

Wendell was preceded in death by his father, Walter; and mother, Pauline; and brothers, Elwin, Vaughn and Kenneth. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Roberta; sisters-in-law, Novella and Margaret Wal lace; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Phillip and Claire Wal lace of Shaker Heights, Ohio and Bryan and Sue Wallace of Fremont, Calif.; grandchildren, Megan, Brooke, Katie, Laura and Matthew. Uncle Bob will be missed by nephew, Walt Wallace, his wife, Theresa, and sons, Woody and Vaughn; along with a host of family and friends.

The family would also like thank the physicians, nurses, chaplains and staff of Akron General Medical Center for their professionalism and kindness.

Calling hours will be Monday, December 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 21, at 11 a.m. at Montrose Zion United Methodist Church, 565 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., with Dr. Walter Chisholm and Dr. James E.
