William Eberhardt Obituary

William J. Eberhardt, 71, born on the feast day of St. Joseph, March 19, 1934, passed away after a brief and courageous battle with pneumonia and cancer on December, 28, 2005 at Hospice of Fairlawn with his family at his side.

He worked as an electrician all of his life, retiring in 1997. He was a long-standing member of Local 306, Electricians Union. He was the electrician foreman overseeing the building of Rolling Acres Mall and previously worked on the Alaskan Pipeline for seven months. After retiring, he went to work with his son Bill at Eberhardt Landscaping. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the V.F.W.

He reached out for the hands of his dad and mom, Joseph and Emma Eberhardt; and brother, Joseph G.; and nephew, Joseph F., who lead him to the gates of his Lord. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Cathryn M. Eberhardt; his son, William (Kimberly) Eberhardt; granddaughters, McKayla and Mackenzie Eberhardt of Wadsworth, Ohio; stepson, Gary Kroska of Ft. Myers, Fla.; grandchildren, Stephen and Amanda Kroska; brothers, John (Lois) Eberhardt of Akron, Ohio, Gene (Jane) Eberhardt of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; sister, Helen (Bud) Sterner of Coventry Township, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sheila Eberhardt of New Jersey; and a host of nieces and nephews located in Ohio, Florida and New Jersey.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Barberton Citizens Hospital and Hospice of Fairlawn, for their outstanding care and support.

Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will be held Tuesday at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. The family will receive friends Friday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Please accept my condolences. I was a bricklayer and worked with Bill a few times. I knew he liked to go fishing and take his dog along.
