William Speer Obituary
William B. Speer, 57, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 30, 2013, after a courageous battle with ALS.
Born in Fremont, Ohio to Lyle and Ruth Gredys Speer, he was a retired inside sales manager and a member of Maranatha Bible Church.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Judge Richard L. Speer, Bill is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Katherine; adored daughter, Abigail Marie Speer, age 10; sisters, Leslie (Gail) Wiswell and Debra J. Speer (Ronald Shiple); sister-in-law, Anita Speer; father and mother-in-law, Harry and Mary Miller; sister-in-law, Betty (Rick) Fagert; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Maranatha Bible Church, 1424 Killian Rd., Akron, OH and TODAY from 10 to 11 a.m., where funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Don Rohrbacher officiating. Due to the weather there will be a private burial at East Liberty Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Maranatha Bible Church Missions Fund.

I just remember what a blessing God gave you when he sent you the gift of LOVE...BILL!! and that blessing led to Abby.

We will always remember Bill and Kathy singing and playing guitar for the kids in Sunday School and for their unwaivering faith in God and love for each other throughout the progression of this terrible disease.

Tim and I held Bill in our hearts and prayers. The night we heard him talk at an Emmaus gathering he kept us laughing and smiling and tearing.
