Barbara Simpkins Obituary
GALLIPOLIS — Barbara I. Simpkins, 80, Gallipolis, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
Born April 20, 1937 at Point Pleasant, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lon and Minnie (Rainey) Peters. A 1955 graduate of Point Pleasant High School, Barbara retired from Kaiser Aluminum of Ravenswood, W.Va., and was a former member of the Riverby Mini-Crafters of the French Art Colony. She married Carl M. Simpkins, her husband of 56 years, who survives.
Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband and their daughter, Jayne (Jeff) Burger, Gallipolis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, Kathleen Cooper, Haidee Berkley and Marion Peters.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio, who is honored to serve the Simpkins family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donation consideration to: The French Art Colony P. O. Box 472, Gallipolis, Ohio 45631. Condolences may be sent to the family via www.mccoymoore.com.
