GALLIPOLIS — David L. Beaver, 68, of Jackson, formerly of Gallipolis, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 11, 1945, in Gallia County, the son of the late Houck and Dorothy Greene Beaver. David married Sherry Sheets on May 22, 1965, in Mercerville, and she survives him. He worked at Crown City Mining, graduated from Huntington Barber College and was a barber for more than 50 years, most recently with Montgomery Barber Shop.
David was a 40-year member of the Masons, being a member of Gallipolis Morning Dawn Lodge 7, and was a past master of Eureka Lodge 469. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry Beaver, of Jackson; a daughter, Jeanine (Alan) Terry, of Jackson; a son, Brad (Kyla) Beaver, of Urbana, Ohio; four grandchildren, Alex Terry, Kelsey, Kamryn and Derek Beaver; a sister, Janet (David) Hively, of Gallipolis; two brothers, Thomas (Shirley) Beaver and Stephen (Carol) Beaver, both of Gallipolis; five sisters-in-law, Carolyn Beaver, of Mercerville, Beverly Beaver, of Reynoldsburg, Marrilene Hyden, of Newark, Sharlene Jones, of Columbus, and Anita (Carl) Chevalier, of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers John Beaver and Paul Beaver.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home between 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014. There will be a Masonic service at 9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Derry Johnson, Mark Mooney, Harold Montgomery, Eric Johnson, Danny Owsley and Chuck Shumate.
