Mr. McClintock was my 7th grade science teacher in 1965. He was the best reacher I ever had. He inspired me to become a teacher. He was great. I still remember all I studied in his class. He will be missed.

My heart breaks for Nancy, Tim & family, Joel & Christi & family, & Cheryl & family. Sending love & hugs to you all. Don was a remarkable man. He touched so many lives, leaving each better than before meeting him. I knew him as a principal, as a leader in the church, as the TV fix it man, as the father of good friends, and as a friend to myself. He was always genuine, had a story to tell, gave great advice, and had an amazing laugh! He loved God, his family, his Nancy, our school system, & this community. Truly a friend to all with everyone's best interest in mind. What a role model he was to all who knew him. Lifting his family & close friends in my prayers.

I will always treasure Dons presence and his help in deciding where to send our son, Joel, who is Developmentally Disabled, to school when we moved to Spencerville in 1991. The deciding factor was when Don said: I want him to come to my school.. That settled the question. It was a generous act of grace for which Claudia and I have always been grateful. You have all our love and condolences. Rev Gary and Claudia Rode.

Don was the best! He hired me to teach at Spencerville in 1983 where I taught for 32 great years where so many friendships and memories were made. Ill always remember and recently reminisced with Don in October about him interviewing me. In the middle of the interview he said he had to get out to the Jennings building and would I mind going (I didnt have a clue what he was talking about) but of course fresh out of college, I was game and wanted a teaching job in the worst way. We drove out to what I thought was the middle of nowhere with him in his black and silver conversion van and the kids were excited to see him arrive. I knew then that I thought this school system would be fun to work for. Little did I know at the time what a passion Don had for education, his teachers and students. I got to know and work with him for many years and also got to see how he worked closely with my mother in law, Carolyn Steiger as his secretary for many years. Another fond memory of Don was he was the best speaker at staff retirement dinners including his memories and reminiscing of hiring various teachers over the years. Don really supported his teachers and wanted what was best for the kids and his staff. He was always there to listen, was authentic and genuine. Don always took the time to come back and visit our classrooms after the teacher return breakfast over the years of course wearing his smile. Don and Chuck Violet were the two best principals I ever worked for; they believed in their staff, showed respect and let teachers do their job. He will be sadly missed but know how proud your family must be to say what a great man he was! Wishing you comfort now, peace soon and warm memories forever. Beth
