GALLIPOLIS — Harriet Anna (Jones) Davison, 99, went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 29, 2018 at her daughter's residence. Harriet was born January 7, 1919 in Annapolis, Maryland, to the late Timothy and Hortense (Miller) Jones. She was the last surviving child of a family of 6. She married James L. Davison on May 2, 1942 in Hopewell, New Jersey, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2010. They had 12 children. In addition to her husband Harriet is preceded in death by, her son, James Davison, Jr, son-in-law, Rick Mershon, and grandson, Brooks Davison, a great grandson, Clayton Stapleton, anda great granddaughter, Vivienne Epling.
Harriet is survived by her late son's widow, Jean (Conely) Davison, sons, Larry and Doris (Olheiser) Davison, Bruce and Jan (Grable) Davison, Greg and Patricia (Dobbins) Davison, Father Tim Davison, Patrick and Tammi (Stewart) Davison, and Chris Davison. Her daughters, Sandy Mershon, Kathy (Ravi) Kamath, Merry (Jack) Stapleton, Karen (John) Stapleton, and Loretta (Spencer) Williams, and several grandchildren.
Her surviving grandsons, Dennis and Tammy (Schmidt) Davison, Mathew Davison, Jay and Jenni (Roush) Mershon, David and Brenda (Stanley) Mershon, Brian and Kristen (Farley) Mershon. Calling hours are Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 3 to 5 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church and Hall in Gallipolis. The Rosary will follow at 5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. The family will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning at the church. Fathers Timothy Davison and Thomas Hamm will officiate services. Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery on State Route 141. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
