Janet A. Kemper, 72, Glenwood, West Virginia, and formerly of Bidwell, Ohio, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. She was born April 29, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Paul Leslie and Loretta Faye Wilson Dixon. Janet retired from Holzer Medical Center following more than twenty years of service and was a former member of Vinton Full Gospel Church.
She is survived by her husband, Marion F. Kemper, Jr. whom she married November 17, 1962, in Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Kelli (Thomas) Templeton, Glenwood, West Virginia and Karli (Joseph) Cheesebrew, Point Pleasant, West Virginia; step-son, Keith (Joan) Rose, Englewood, Ohio; grandchildren, Kristopher Kemper, Allison Templeton-Allen, Mallory Templeton, Kindra Cheesebrew, J. Wyatt Cheesebrew; and step-grandchildren, Dustin Rose and Tony Rose. Also surviving are sisters, Pam Delosier and fiance, Norm Spafford and Becky Shade and brother, Steve Leslie, all of Columbus, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Kemper and sister, Lois Mayer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Pastor Mark Mayes, officiating. Burial will follow in Ball's Chapel Church Cemetery, Ashton, West Virginia. Friends and family may call Wednesday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
