SURFSIDE BEACH — John F. McClintock, age 69, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at 10:02 a.m. at home on June 1, 2018. John is preceded in death by his father Ottis S. McClintock and his mother Emma Jane McClintock.
John will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Sylvia, and their precious children, Stephanie Anne Handrahan, spouse Brad Savin; Samantha Lynch, spouse Julius Lynch; Shane Boyte spouse Danielle Boyte; Dwaine Boyte, spouse Shelby Boyte; and Sherlyn Wolfe spouse Bryan Wolfe; and by his grandchildren, Tiffany Queen, Cody Boyte, Zach Handrahan, Triston Boyte, Taylor Boyte, Gage Boyte, Justin Boyte and Raquel Wolfe. As well as three great grandchildren.
Born in Gallia, Ohio, but raised in Racine, Ohio, he attended Racine High School and The University of Ohio. In 1969, he served as a Sergeant for two years during the Vietnam War. After the army he worked as a water superintendent. Before his retirement from the North Carolina Belmont water plant in 1998, he married Sylvia Bailey on Sept. 20, 1997. Fishing and golfing were John's favorite pastime. However he loved it more when he could take his grandchildren out and teach them a thing or two. Besides being outdoors, John loved to eat.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at the Beach Chapel. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel is handling arrangements.

I am so very sorry to learn of John's death. We went to school together at Racine; Class of 1968.
