May 10, 1974 - Nov. 15, 2017 EDMOND Avni Patel Sahgal, 43, Edmond, OK, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017. A service honoring Avni's life will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Crawford Family Funeral Service in Edmond. Avni was born to Raman and Niru Patel in Chicago, IL May 10, 1974. She graduated from Strongsville, OH high school in 1992 and obtained a bachelor's in psychology at Cleveland State University in 1996. Her love for children and nurturing character led her to the career pathway of a Child Life Therapist. She completed her residency in Chicago, IL, where she met her husband, Suneet Sahgal, on the pediatric ward. They were happily married Aug. 6, 2000. She was the love of his life. Avni was the caring mother of three children, Shaili (15), Raina (12), and Shaanav (9). She would regularly post proud moments of her children's talents and milestones. Avni's love for rescuing animals was well-known and appreciated by all of her friends and family. She leaves behind Shyla, Shivi, Rocky, and Oreo. Her countless friends and family knew Avni to be a caring and nurturing soul. She was well-known to host dinner to any and all that would be in the area. She was also well-known for her passion and creativity for all of the various projects, small and large, that she would undertake. She had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. She was regarded as a matriarch in the family amongst her cousins and siblings. She will be deeply missed. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her parents, Raman & Niru Patel, of Westlake, OH; her brother, Amit Patel & wife Dina, of Hinsdale, IL, and niece, Suhayla, and nephew, Shayan; her sister, Alpa Patel, of Galena, OH, and nephew, Sohan, and niece, Saniya; her father-in-law, Vinod Sahgal & wife Sudarshan, of Oakbrook, IL; brother-in-law, Rohit Sahgal & wife Nishi, of Hinsdale, IL, nieces, Savina and Shalini, and nephew, Sahan; her brother-in-law, Vineet Sahgal & wife Sunaina, of Clarendon Hills, IL, nephew, Ritik, and niece, Siya. Grieving friends and family are invited to the Memorial Services at Crawford Family Funeral in Edmond, OK.
