Bill Simonsen Obituary

Bill C. Simonsen, 79, of Oklahoma City, passed away on October 30, 2007. He was born June 24, 1928, on a farm in Derby, Kansas, to Chris P. Simonsen and Rosa E. Simonsen. At age five, his family moved from the farm to Wichita. He attended school, graduating from East High in 1947, and then worked full time for his father who was a building contractor. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary by renewing their wedding vows in 1998. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1984, and served on various committees throughout the years. He is survived by his wife, Anna L. Simonsen; two daughters, Paulette Gordon and husband Dr. Robert Gordon, Pamela Evans and husband Mike Evans of OKC; and five grandchildren, Stephanie, Jeffrey Gordon; Laban, Kaylen and Libby Evans of OKC; and a host of nephews and nieces. Family will greet friends on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Guardian North Funeral Home. A memorial and Celebration of Bill's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church, 131 N.W. 5th. Rev. Mark McAdow and Rev.
