Charley Nichols

Charley David Nichols was born to Jewel Elizabeth (Arron) and Charley Daniel Nichols on January 3, 1933 in Stratford, Oklahoma. He graduated from Central High School and from State Barber College. David married Christine Patton on April 8, 1950 in Oklahoma City. He moved to Blanchard from Oklahoma City about 36 years ago. David had a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. David was a great father and had a charming sense of humor that would brighten the room. He was a Barber College Instructor and Landscaper. David trimmed the trees and the men. He was also very proud of his Chickasaw Indian heritage. He would take his children and grandchildren fishing, they were amazed at each catch. David enjoyed hunting and was called Dead-eye Dillion by his friends and would grow a garden even when he had to crawl. He had many health problems, over a span of thirty three years. David passed away July 16, 2008 at 75 years of age. Survivors include his wife, Christine Nichols of Blanchard son, Ronald Nichols of Blanchard daughters, Gail Watson of Tulsa, Davina Kniffin of Burleson, Texas, Paula Melton of Blanchard grandchildren, Matthew, Robin, Larry, Christine, Sharli 9 great-grandchildren brothers, Louis Nichols of Harrah, Preston Nichols and his wife, Karen of Blanchard, James Nichols and his wife Barbara of Hurst, Texas step-sisters, Doratha Albee of California, Mildred Meyer of Georgia numerous other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by son, Timothy Nichols grandson, J.D. Melton granddaughter, Julie Nichols parents brothers Dean and Daniel. Services will be held at 10 A.M., Sat., July 19, 2008, at the Middleberg Baptist Church in Middleberg, Oklahoma. Reverend Jay Heffron will officiate and the eulogy will be given by Christine Kniffin. Interment held in the Blanchard Cemetery with arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.
