Denise was a wonderful, witty, intelligient and kind person that I had the privilege of knowing from elementary school through high school. When I heard the news I immediately thought of her laugh as that is what stood out to me. I remember all the good times and the happiness she brought to us when we were growing up. To her family I offer my prayers and I am very sorry for such a tragic loss.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I was truly sad to learn about the tragic loss of Denise. I met her through the Small Business Office at Tinker AFB. She was a very sweet and intelligent lady and I know she will be missed by all who knew her. I pray her family finds comfort and peace this holiday season.

Please know that my prayers are with you in this time of need and that God will comfort you with fond memories of Mrs. Stice. I was deeply saddened to hear of her tragic loss. I worked with her at Tinker on occasional interactions of her organization. She was one of the most pleasant and professional women I have worked with. My prayer is that closure is brought to your family & this incredibly senseless loss. God Bless.

To Denise, family and friends,
I was introduced in the 80's from her best friend Laurie and she was working at McCreless mall as a security guard. She was so funny and loved her walkie talkie! I used to tease her all the time. I am very sorry for your loss. I just lost my brother at the same age 1 month ago. I understand your grief and pain. She will be missed and remembered. She was a great person. God bless your family.

Denise and I became friends in elementary school, and I have so many memories of her, especially her wonderful laugh. Denise had the best, loudest, most joyful laugh I ever heard, and we heard it often. Over the last 30 years, I rarely saw her, but we would always get together during Christmas time. I admired her qualities of hard work, leadership, community service, and zest for life, and her friendship was a true blessing. Her family is in my prayers – may she rest in peace.

Denise was great to work with, and she was so personable and so full of spunk! She got the most out of life. It's no surprise so many now miss her.

Denise always called me "Missy" and teased me about being a little school teacher. In her honor, each year I choose a little prissy girl to nickname "Missy". Today, the day after Denise's funeral, I called on "Missy" to answer a question. As soon as I did, it hit me, she really is gone from this earth. But quickly, I smiled as I heard Denise's voice in my heart. It seems we all have many wonderful memories. Thank God for his gracious gift, Denise. I will treasure our times together. God bless all of us who loved Denise. I love all of you Tuckers. You are great people. God be with you.

To the family of Denise Stice, my prayers are for you at this very sad time. I was in the Highlands Brigade with Denise and haven't seen her since 1975. When I heard of her death I remembered her and can picture her smiling face and fun personality. I hope time will heal your sorrow and maybe all the cards, calls and emails you receive will help with this hard time just a little.

MELINDA TUCKER

December 6, 2007

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I knew Denise since Rogers Middle School. Many things and people have changed since the 1970's. I last saw and talked Denise at the 20 year reunion 10 years ago. I can honestly say that she was the same friendly, affable, and caring person she had always been. The HHS (SA, TX) Class of 1977 has lost one of its very best. Es Todo, Richard A. Soto

I worked with Denise at Kelly AFB. As you can see from the previous entries, everyone has fond memories of Denise. My memories revolve around her joy for life...an exerburance that infected everyone around her and made us all feel better for knowing her. As long as we retain those memories, then Denise's spirit lives on within each of us. That is her legacy to her Kelly family. When Denise arrived in heaven, there were many (too many) members of her Kelly family waiting for her. She is among many good friends.

It was with heavy heart I heard of Denise's passing. I first met her while training at Wright Patterson AFB in 1984. There were hundreds of "us" from varying backgrounds and work experiences living in Dayton for 3 months. Despite these numbers, Denise stood out. I actually met her through her roomate but still Denise's vibrant personality shown through time and time again. Each day was different and included some type of chaos but Denise treated it as an adventure. I don't believe I ever saw her down so to be around her was a pick up for most of us. I was lucky enough to meet up with Denise again when her job brought her to Warner Robins to work at Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, my assignment. Despite just a brief meeting, I realized she was the same Denise and people wanted to not only work for her but succeed. Although her stay @Robins was short she impacted many people and even though she is gone, I believe these same people realize their lives are better for knowing her. She will be missed. Peace and understanding be with you, her family and friends.

My condolences and prayers are with Denise's family. I had the pleasure to met Denise back in 1997. I was a trainee IMS at Kelly AFB. I remember I went into a meeting with her and other Contracting Officials in regards to one of the Programs I managed. During our meeting I just fell in love with her, she reminded me of myself, so straight forward, new her stuff and knew exactly what was required to support our Program. She then transfer from Kelly AFB to Robins AFB and then left again to Tinker AFB, since she left Robins AFB, this really put a dent in our organization loosing someone with great contracting acknowledge. I felt lost when she left us. She was always there for me when I had a problem. I can say that I got the opportunity to say goodbye and how much I would truly miss her and hopefully in the future we would meet up again and work with each one more time. But never to say goodbye like this. I now have lost my true friend and will always remember her as she was and will keep her in my heart and prayers. My greatest deepest sympathy to her very closest family and friends. Love you Denise.

May the Lord bless the family at this time; you're all in our prayers. Tinker will miss you.....

Denise was my Branch Chief from the time she arrived at Tinker until she left to become the director of the Small Business Office. I will never forget how she truly cared for her employees and her willingness to stand by and support them. She will truly be missed and I am grateful I had the opportunity to know her and to work with her. May God comfort and bless the family during this most difficult time.
