Douglas Skipper

Douglas "Doug" Wayne Skipper, age 58, of Harrah, OK, was born December 5, 1952, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the son of Marriable Franklin Skipper and Ella Jane (Patterson) Skipper. He left this life on Thursday, January 13, 2011, in Harrah, OK. Doug was preceded in death by parents and brother-in-law, Corky Trotter. Doug married Anna Harris on June 25, 1971, in Midwest City, OK. He was a wonderful husband of 39 years. Doug graduated from Carl Albert High School in 1972. He worked as an auto body repairman for McConnell's Body Shop in Midwest City for 18 years and was a member of the 101 Ranch Association. Doug enjoyed listening to red dirt music and watching his grandchildren play sports. Survivors include his wife, Anna Skipper, Harrah, OK; 2 daughters & sons-in-law: Angie & Mark Barton, Harrah, OK; Kim & Brian Dodd, Harrah, OK; 3 brothers and 1 sister: David Skipper, Medway, Maine; Linda Moore, Harrah, OK; Larry Skipper, Tonkawa, OK; Steve Skipper, Midwest City, OK; 7 grandchildren: Nick Curnutt, Tyler Barton, Ashley Dodd, Erika Barton, Garrett Meredith, Morgan Dodd, Natalee Barton; father-in-law, Farold Staples, Guthrie, OK; and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, January 17, 2011, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Dr. Doug Parker officiating. Interment will be at 12:30 PM, at Olivet Cemetery, Perkins, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
