Elma Gentry Obituary

Elma Lee Gentry, 84, of Oklahoma City went home to be with her Lord on March 14, 2007 after a short illness. Elma was born in Alva, OK April 21, 1922. She was raised in and around Duncan, OK. Born to Jim and Lillie Davis, Elma was one of 10 children. In 1939 she married her husband, Gerald Gentry. Gerald and Elma had one daughter, Katherine, in 1942. During the war Elma worked at Douglas Aircraft at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. Later she worked in retail sales until her retirement in 1976. Her husband of 45 years and her four sisters and five brothers precedes her in death. Elma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Paul Traugh; her grandchildren, Randy and Sharon Carlton, of Agra, OK, Kimberly and Bill McCambridge of Blanchard, OK; her great grandchildren, Billy Highby Carlton of Little Rock, AR, Alicia Danielle (McCambridge) Lambert and her husband Charles Lambert of Mesa, AZ, Bradly Neal Carlton of Oklahoma City, OK and Erin Katherine (McCambridge) Hames and her husband Michael Hames of Newport News, VA; and her step-grandson, Steve Traugh and his wife Jennifer and two step-grandchildren, Thomas and Peter Traugh of Palmer, MA; and one sister-in-law, Jerry Davis; many nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. Services will be held at the Advantage Hunter Funeral Chapel in Capitol Hill, at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 19, 2007 with interment at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
