Glenn Featherston Obituary

Glenn Featherston, 60, left this world on April 23, 2010 to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, to Herb and Ella Mae Featherston and is described by family as being a precocious child who had many spirited adventures with his siblings, and later as a gregarious and devoted family man. He married his high-school sweetheart, Diannah Howard, also of Ft. Smith, in 1970; the two made a home in Danforth Farms in Edmond. Glenn and Diannah have two children, Todd of Owasso, OK (spouse, Sally) and Kelly of Yukon, OK (spouse, Jon Aiken); and have three loving grandsons, Colter, Tyler and Ethan. Glenn made his career as a bread salesman for Bairds Bakery. He enjoyed being outdoors and spent many memorable and relaxing days with his family at Lake Tenkiller, boating, fishing, enjoying his grandchildren and making the best breakfasts and BBQ ribs available. Glenn is survived by his father, Herb, of Ft. Smith, AR; sister, Barbara Davidson, of Rogers, AR; Susie Odom (spouse, Larry), of Poteau, OK; Sharon Jennings (spouse, Dave), of Ft. Smith, AR; and brother, Gary (spouse, Linda), of Mansfield, TX. Glenn will be laid to rest on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Deer Creek Church of Christ in Edmond. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Our family admired Glenn for the way he courageously fought his cancer. We admired the way he kept positive and continued to live. His sister, Susie, is my sister-n-law and I know she is really going to miss her brother. May God Bless his family.

Glenn and I have been friends for 45+ years. He was a good friend, a good husband and a terrific father. He was so proud of Todd and Kelly and his grandchildren. He will be missed by all of us blessed to know him.

Our hearts were saddened when we found out about Glenn.
He was a great guy and neighbor to us when we lived in Danforth Farms many years ago. He and the entire family will never be forgotten.

We will never forget Glenn taking our daughter, DaJuana along with Todd and Kelly boating.

Grief is very hard to deal with and unless you have lost a loved one, there are no words to express it.
We too, lost our beautiful daughter, DaJuana in a tragic car accident and our heart breaks for your loss.

One good thing, we will see them both again in Heaven. Heaven is a better place with them being there, however it doesn't take away the hurt.

If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know--we are there for you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm praying for you and your family. Thanks for all the times skiing at the lake. I smile when I think about your "you get 3 tries to get up and then get back in the boat" rule. Your family will miss you.
