Harold O'Mealey

Harold Raymond 86, passed away September 23, 2004. Harold Raymond O'Mealey was born in Lamont, OK on August 17, 1918, and there he grew up and graduated from Lamont High School. He served in the pacific in World War II as Technical Sergeant and Crew Chief of B-17s and B29s while stationed on Guam. He married Beatrice Irene Webster on December 24, 1941 and they eventually made their home in Ponca City, OK where he worked in sales. In 1965, he brought his family to Oklahoma City where he worked in management of O'Mealey's cafeterias. A lifelong devoted church worker, he was actively involved at Asbury United Methodist Church in Ponca City, OK in the education department, worked with youth and in the choir. He was a member of South Lee United Methodist Church for the past where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. He is survived by children Jim & Shelly O'Mealey of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; Sue & Dan Johnston & Cindy & Mike Walling of Oklahoma City; his grandchildren, Michelle & Brian Bollenbach, Kevin & Katharine Johnston, Melissa & Gary O'Mealey, Lauren & Andrea Walling; and great grandchildren Tyler Johnston and Katelyn Bollenbach. His loving wife of 56 years Beatrice O'Mealey and son Gary Lee O'Mealey preceded him in death. The family wishes to express their grateful appreciation of the loving care given to their father by Bellevue Nursing Center and Alleve Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Services will be held 10:00 am. Monday at Village United Methodist Church, 2501 W. Britton Road, OKC. Graveside Services will be held Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at the Resthaven Cemetery in Ponca City.
