IRENE DODSON

August 9, 1916 - July 29, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Irene Fewell Dodson, 97, of Oklahoma City, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on July 29, 2014.Born on August 9, 1916 in Wallis Texas, the daughter of Guy L. and Martha T. Fewell, she grew up in Ringling, Oklahoma, where her father was Chief Engineer for Prairie Pipe Line, which was later Sinclair Oil Co. One of six siblings, she was talented in music playing the piano the violin and an accomplished vocalist, as well. She graduated from Zaneis High School and remained an active participant in the Alumni Association. Following gra-duation she attended Hills Business College in Oklahoma City, where she met and married William Ray Dodson, Jr. -- a marriage lasting 62 years!Ray and lrene continued the family tradition of membership in First Christian Church, where Ray was both a Deacon and elder and lrene was a Deaconess, former choir member and active in Children's Ministries. She followed the scripture, "Love One Another," expressing support via encouraging words and giving hugs to others.Irene is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ann Dodson Cobb, her husband, Commander Roy L. Cobb Jr., USN Retired; granddaughter, Kendra Cobb Scott, her husband Tom of Alva, Florida; grandson, Cary William Cobb, his wife Cheryl; great grandchildren, Christopher William Cobb and Jessica Marie Cobb of Camarillo, California and grandson, Paul Alan Cobb of Camarillo, California. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church, 3700 North Walker, Oklahoma City, OK, at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2014.
