Sr. Jeanne Marie Futrell died March 7, 2020. She was born on April 28, 1925 and was a native of Oklahoma City. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha Rose, her brothers, Fr. John, SJ and James. She is survived by a sister, Sr. Janice Futrell, OSB, and many nieces and nephews.
Prior to her entrance into Carmel, sister was a registered nurse and worked in obstetrics at St. Anthony's. Sister also taught surgical nursing. She was a Carmelite for 66 years and served the community in a variety of ways, especially as infirmarian and the Council.
The Vigil will be held at 7:00 pm March 10th at Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel. Mass and Burial will be at 10:00 am March 11th at the Carmelite Monastery Chapel, 20000 N. County Line Rd., Piedmont, OK. Donations can be made to the Discalced Carmelite Nuns at 2370 Morgan Rd. NE, Piedmont , OK 73078.
