JERRY MEISSINGER Obituary

Jan 31, 1931 - Dec 5, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Jerry Lee Meissinger, 83, died December 5, 2014, in Oklahoma City. He was born January 31, 1931, in Loyal, Oklahoma, to John & Olinda Meissinger. Jerry worked at Liquid Carbonic and Western Paper Company in addition to running the family farm his entire adult life. He was a member of the Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church for 62 years. He was also an avid OU football and Thunder basketball fan. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sherry Hawkins; and sister, Lillian Halverson. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Wanda Meissinger; son, Jerry Meissinger, Moore, OK; son, Terry Meissinger and wife Marci, Edmond, OK; daughter, Sue Haworth, Acworth, GA; nine grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, December 8, 2014, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Services will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Mercer-Adams Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Integris Hospice Center or your favorite charity. My grandfather was such a great man, he was very stern but always was joking around and teasing us about something or another, he would talk to a rock , he loved the gift of gab , he knew no stranger, he was always there to lend a helping hand with his truck if you ever needed something moved, always willing to help someone, loved his family and loved his farm, I miss him screaming my grandmother name wandie Rae is what he would holler, he will be greatly missed forever !!

Jerry was always one of my very favorite patients. He had a smile for me regardless of sick he might have been. I will miss seeing that sweet smile.
