Kathryn McIntyre Obituary

Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Wife, Mother and Mamaw. Kathryn ''Kay'' Marie Boyhen McIntyre went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2008. She was born on May 10, 1927 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her parents were Peter James Boyhen and Mary Isabell Coulter Boyhen. Her older siblings were Zedna Belle Boyhen Zahornacky and Peter James Boyhen Jr. Her mother passed away eight days after she was born and she was raised by her maternal Grandmother, Mary Estelle Coulter, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kay was raised as the little sister ''little teeter'' to Zedna Ann Coulter Newman, Laliah Coulter Cook, Agnes Jean Coulter Wallace, Maxine Coulter Black McClenny, Thomas Coulter and Paul Coulter. You can imagine the fun adventures she had growing up with six older siblings. She went to Jefferson Elementary and graduated from Classen High School in 1945. She went to school at Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi. She soon came home and married the boy next door, Bill Wayne McIntyre, August 30, 1947. Bill and Kay enjoyed sixty years of marriage. Bill and Kay are charter members of Village Baptist Church where they taught Sunday school and enjoyed the fellowship of their dear friends. Kay leaves behind her husband Bill Wayne McIntyre two daughters, Marsha Kay Stafford and husband Ron Stafford, Michelle Marie Maberry and husband, Dr. Stephen Maberry six grandchildren, Ashley Kay Hoggatt and husband Mickey Hoggatt, Stephen Wayne Stafford and wife Savannah Stafford, Samanna, Jonathan, Allison and David Maberry, and two great-grandchildren Alayna Kay and Alexa Kay Hoggatt. She is also survived by her sister in-law, Mary Nell Coulter, her niece Kathy Perkins, her nephew Mark McIntyre, her neice Linda Zahornacky, her nephew Bob Zahornacky, her half brother Gary Boyhen and her half sister Millie Boyhen Horosko. Her family was the light of her life and she had great joy in sharing the love of Christ and telling the good news of the gospel with everyone she met. She was a prayer warrior and a witness of the Lord's. Formal visitation will be at Matthew's Funeral Home, Monday, July 7, 2008 at 7:00-9:00pm. Graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, July 8, 2008 at 10:00am. Memorial services will be at Village Baptist Church at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation in Kay's name be made to the building fund at Village Baptist Church.

Bill, Michelle, Marsha and your Families,
I am so sorry for your loss with the passing of Kay, your Mom. I am so sorry I wasn't with her more in these past few years. She was a wonderful friend in our early years in OKC, and you are all in my prayers. Thank you, Bill, for letting me know.
