Mary Alice Carmichael

Mary Alice Carmichael, 85, of Oklahoma City, passed away November 15, 2006. She was born January 14, 1921, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Essie and Halbert Lillard. She grew up in Shawnee and graduated from Shawnee High School, attended 2 years at Lindenwood College, St. Charles, MO, then attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in drama and was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She taught preschool at the Little Playhouse for 21 years. She was wonderful with children and had many memories of her associates and little friends. Mary Alice met James Carmichael and they were married August 29, 1942. They had two loving daughters, Jody and Mary Ann Carmichael. She loved to travel and all the many places she visited, New York, Carmel, California, Santa Fe, NM and all the places coast to coast. She was a member of Mayfair and Revelers Dinner Clubs, also a member of Preface Book Club-an avid reader of western books and western movies. We would like to extend our thanks to the many caregivers who helped. Dr. Ron H. White and Audrea McCoy of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital and the people at The Fountains of Canterbury Nursing Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2006, at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nichols Hills Church or the charity of your choice.
