Mary Moore Obituary
Mary Ann (Richardson) Moore, age 74, died peacefully at her Norman home surrounded by family, on March 17, 2006, after an extended illness. She was born on October 31, 1931, to Walter M. 'Dick' and Claire Ellen (Culley) Richardson. Both preceded her in death. Reverend Harry Smith, will officiate the memorial service at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2006, at First Christian Church, 220 S. Webster in Norman, Oklahoma. Born in Oklahoma City, Mary Ann lived in Oklahoma most of her life, graduating from Classen High School at age 16 in 1948. She married George Moore in 1959 and had 3 lovely children. She earned her Bachelors degree from Central State University in 1971 and her Masters degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1981. She was also a Certified Professional Secretary. In the early '70s she taught at Draughons School of Business, Tulsa Junior College and operated her own business, Dial-an-Office, all in Tulsa. She was a Professor at Oklahoma City Community College from 1976 until she retired in 1994. Survivors include son Don and Debbie Moore of Flower Mound, Texas; daughter Kellye Chambers of Norman; and daughter Laura Rogers of Lafayette, Indiana. She also leaves two dear sisters, Elaine Bentley and her husband Jad Hanner of Bethany; and Mary Ellen and her husband Jack Barnes of Choctaw. She is also survived by three nieces, Linda Harrison and family of Sinton, Texas; Merry Buchanan and family of Bethany; and Rebecca Fairchild and family of Euless, Texas. Her only nephew, Russell Bentley, preceded her in death. Other survivors include George Moore and his wife Shirley of Corinth, Texas. She was especially proud to be 'Mimi' to six delightful grandchildren: Lauren and Stacie Chambers of Norman; Jennifer and Christopher Moore of Flower Mound, Texas; and Aspen and Allie Rogers of Lafayette, Indiana.
