Michael M. Melot

MICHAEL M. MELOT Born 5/8/1915 in Brady, TX died at home 2/15/04. He served his country in World War II for 5 years 11 months in the Air Force. He met and married Ida Lou (Koebelen) in Lone Wolf, OK on September 13, 1951. Then later moved to Sherman, TX, where his two sons were born. The family moved to Bethany, OK in 1965 and he was employed with Aero Commander. In 1967 he and his family moved to their present home and started the family business, known as Melot's Sportsman's Club. He was an avid fisherman, hunter & trained many bird dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, his son, Kim and son in law, Rex McLaughlin. Mike is survived by his wife, Ida Lou, a son, Max Melot & wife Georgie, a daughter, Melissa McLaughlin and daughter in law, Kathy Roth; 3 sisters; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Mercy Heart Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wed., Feb. 18, at Mercer Adams Funeral Chapel, 3925 N Asbury, Bethany.
