Nancy Wallace, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 16, 2020, She was born to Louis and Jenny Karner on Sept. 22, 1937, and was raised in Wampum, PA. She graduated Wampum High School in 1955. She graduated from nurse's training in 1958. She served as a USAF nurse from 1958 to 1963 in Michigan and Germany. She married George in 1960. They had three children, John, Susan, and Karen, and were married 59 years. She did a great job taking care of the family while George was serving in the Vietnam War. Nancy was a homemaker until her children were in high school. She returned to nursing and was a staff nurse at Mercy Hospital for 25 years. She loved traveling and got to see most of the U.S. She also liked going to the casino to play the slot machines. She loved sports, especially the Thunder and OU football. A 49-year member of St. Eugene Catholic Church, her social life was centered around card circle and senior group activities. She was strong in her faith and made every effort to attend weekly and special masses. She is survived by her husband, George; her son, John (Laura); her daughter, Susan (Steve); daughter, Karen; three grandchildren, John, Ryan, and Brooke Solan; and numerous family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Eugene Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donate to the St. Eugene Building Fund or the St. Eugene Capital Campaign.
