Patsy Morris

Patsy Ruth Morris, 65, of Scottsville, VA, died Oct. 18, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services celebrating her life will be held 2:00pm Saturday Oct. 24, 2009, at the Pavilion of the Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyard, 100 Grand Cru Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22902.Pat was born in El Reno, OK, Nov. 27, 1943, to Charley and Ruth Shaw. After completing El Reno Public Schools in 1962, she was trained as an X-Ray Technician at the Medical School of the University of Oklahoma and was employed at Midwest City Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City, as well as working for more than 15 years in the radiation department of Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, VA. She married Phillip T. Morris, who died in 2004. She is survived by her son Tim M. Morris and grandson Michael Julian Morris of Charlottesville, VA, brothers Robert Shaw of Hobart, OK, and Gaylord Shaw of Duncan, OK, and her friend and companion Cecil Skeen of Scottsville. She was preceded in death by three brothers Frank, James, and Ray. The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Maya Ghaemmaghami, the staff of Martha Jefferson H.O.P.E. and the staff at Hospice of the Piedmont for their support and care. Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville is handling arrangements.
