RONALD GOODE Obituary

May 5, 1924 - April 19, 2014 MOORE Ronald Eugene Goode, 89, of Moore, OK, passed away April 19, 2014. He was born May 5, 1924, to Mearl and Hazel Goode in Charlton, IA. Ronald enjoyed gardening and bird-watching. Ronald was very friendly and never met a stranger. Ronald heard his country's call and served in the United States Air Force for 23 years during the WWII and the Korean War. Ronald is survived by two daughters, Virginia O'Dell and husband Ross and Susan Goode-Null and husband Christopher Null; six grandchildren, Brian Owen, Lori Owen, Aaron Deckert, Julia Barnes, Candace Taylor, and Killashandra Goode-Null; five great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Prather and husband Bob; brother, Jerry Goode and wife Betty; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members and friends; and close family friends, Betty and Okie Gardner. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Goode; daughter, Barbara Deckert; brother, Kenneth Goode; and sister, Margaret Stansbery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 4500 24th NW, Norman, OK 73069; or a charity of your choice. A private family service will be held at the family's home. Arrangements were provided by the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.

A good man, a good neighbor and part of our greatest generation. They built the best of our social infrastructure. Ron watched and cared for me like a son, simply because of his friendship with mom and dad. We need more chosen family. Your life, Ron, was a job well done.
