After the committal, Central Presbyterian Church will have a reception for the family to greet friends at 50th & N. May in Oklahoma City. Ruth O. Wehmuller Adler was loved by God before she was born to Edward and Emelia Fischer Wehmuller on October 17, 1916 on the Wehmuller Farm in Colony, Oklahoma. She passed to God in Snyder, Oklahoma on Friday, July 26, 2002 in the year of our Lord, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease that robbed her cognitive ability to think and reason, but never robbed her of her great heart and precious spirit. She was known by those who loved her as 'Ruthie'. Ruthie was the baby of the Wehmuller family and had a good life on the farm with her older sisters, Gertrude and Alma, who both preceded her in death, and her beloved sister Esther of Roswell, New Mexico. After she graduated from Weatherford High School and attended Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha, she worked for a period of time in Oklahoma City, where she met the love of her life, the late COL. James N. Adler. They made a covenant to marry and kept that covenant for 55 years. During that period of time Ruthie loved Jimmy and Jimmy loved Ruthie with all his heart. She kept that covenant while standing beside his bed in 1995 when Jimmy joined the great cloud of witnesses. During the 55 years they were married, her highest calling was to be a good wife to Jimmy, Mother to Doug, and Grandmother to Neill and Mandie. She did all of that par excellence. Ruthie was an elegant, gracious lady whose appearance and home were immaculate. She was a Military wife, as Jimmy served in the 45th infantry Division for 32 years. She saw her husband go to war and by faith she endured. Ruthie had incredible faith, sustained by membership at Central Presbyterian Church, where she served in the Christian Education department, created paraments for the sanctuary that still hang, and was in the Central Presbyterian Women's Circle. We celebrate that Ruthie has joined the Church eternal and been set free from those things on earth that limited her. Giving thanks to God for her love are her Family that remain: Children: Doug & Rev. Nancy Adler of Snyder, OK. Grandchildren: Neill and Linda Adler of Yukon, OK. Mandie Adler & her Fiance' Mack Renner of Tulsa, OK. Great Grandchildren: Isaac & Nathan Adler, Sister Esther Davina, and Nephew and Niece Lowell and Pat Davina of Roswell, NM. Dear Friends Bob and Grace Paul and Bob and Carlene Richardson. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Snyder First United Methodist Church; 918 E Street, Snyder, OK 73566 or to Infant Crisis Services: 1933 NW 39th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
