Shannon Rziha Obituary

Shannon Michelle (Brill) Rziha, age 34, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, finished her earthly journey and battle with cancer as she passed away on Friday, February 11, 2011, the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. She was born in Oklahoma City May 15, 1976 and graduated from Putnam City High School in 1994. She attended Kansas Newman College (currently Newman University) in 1994 on a softball scholarship and graduated 1999 with a degree in biology. She married Wayne Rziha of Tampa, Kansas, on July 15, 2000 in Wichita, Kansas. The couple has lived in Tulsa since 2002, where as a homemaker she raised three children, currently ages 8, 6, and 3. She was an active member of Church of the Madalene Catholic parish. Shannon was preceded in death by her father, Doug Brill; and both of her grandfathers. She is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Cecilia, Anthony, and Daniel, of Tulsa; mother, Jean Brill of Cashion; brother, Christopher Brill of Cashion; grandmothers, Sara Brill of Manford, and Lorene Smith of Yukon; aunts: Debby Brill of Norman; Deidre & Keith Freedman of Grapevine, TX; and Darcy Brill of Tulsa; and uncle, Steve & Marlene Smith of Cashion. Those wishing to join us in prayer and to honor her memory are invited to the following services at the Church of Madalene Catholic Parish: Tuesday, February 15, Visitation 3-6pm, Holy Hour 6pm and Rosary/Wake Service 7pm; Wednesday, February 16, Visitation 12:15pm, and Funeral Mass & burial 1pm. Condolences can be sent to Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Shannon Rziha Fund at Church of the Madalene Catholic Parish, Madalene Mom's Group, care of the Church of the Madalene Catholic Parish; and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research.
