Stephen J. Wilds

Funeral services for Stephen J. Wilds, of El Reno, will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 21, 2002 in the First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Ed Porter & Rev. Marcus Hull will officiate. Burial will be in the El Reno Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home. Mr. Wilds died Thursday, January 17, 2002 in his home. He was born on December 25, 1924 in El Reno, OK. Stephen grew up in El Reno and was a graduate of El Reno High School. He moved to Durango, Colorado in 1956 where he built and operated Silver Streams Lodge, which he ran until 1969 when he returned to El Reno, and started Wilds Fish Farm. In 1983 he built and operated the Wilds Restaurant & Recreation Area. He also farmed and attended the First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Wilds was preceded in death by his father Stephen Collas Wilds and granddaughter Emily Wilds. Survivors include his wife Helen Kay Wilds of the home; 2 sons: David Aaron Wilds and wife Jana, Lynn Dale Wilds & wife Gale all of Yukon, OK; 2 stepsons Chip Whitworth & wife Marty of Big Spring, TX, Tray Whitworth & wife Dorinda of Weatherford, TX; mother, Clara Sharp Wilds of El Reno; 2 brothers: Eldon Wilds & wife Bonnie, Melvern G. 'Chigger' Wilds & wife Marilyn all of El Reno, OK; 10 grandchildren: Deanna, Kimberly, Davilyn, Jared, Chad, Aspen, Andy, Riquee', Brandy, Kara; 6 great grandchildren Cory, Conner, Bryn, Tristyn, Dailen, and Makayla Daily. The family suggests memorials be made to the First Church of the Nazarene (910 S. Reno) El Reno, OK 73036 for the Metropolitan Mission Project in India, or Russell Murray Hospice (221 S. Bickford) El Reno, OK 73036.
