Susan Stansberry Obituary

August 3, 1946 - August 18, 2011 YUKON Susan Kay Stansberry was born August 3, 1946, in Oklahoma City and was called home by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 18, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin "Jinks" and Kathryn Thompson. She is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Harold, of the home; daughters, Jennifer Stansberry, and Amy Brown and husband Kevin; and granddaughters, Lilly, Annie and Sophie - all of Yukon; a brother, Mike Thompson and wife Arlene, and a sister, Ann Thompson, of Calumet; many cousins, nieces and nephews and a great number of former students whom she mentored and loved over the twenty-two years she taught at Southwest Covenant School in Yukon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Southwest Covenant Schools Patriot Project or to the Children's Wing Building Fund at Heritage Baptist Church. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, August 23, at 1:00 PM, at Heritage Baptist Church, 14317 N. Council Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73142. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you as you mourn the loss of a great lady. Susan and I worked together in the Children's Department at South Lee. Always the dedicated worker and sweet spirit. May God wrap His arms of love around you, comfort you, bring back precious memories and ease your sorrow.

Susan will surely be missed by Bob and Tomi Sackett. She always impressed us with her kindness and gracious way of greeting us and making us feel that we were important in her life. Her talents were vast and we noted that she was always volunteering to help in any way she could in so many ways. She was a model to take heed and follow as she gave herself to the world so unselfishly. Our deepest condolences to her family. We know her suffering is finally over and she is now healthy and happy as she circulates in heaven with those she lost in her lifetime. Best of wishes to you all...........................Bob and Tomi Sackett
