Vona Hanshew Walter

Vona Hanshew Walter May 8, 1909 - May 4, 2007 Vona, also known as GiGi, finally joins her true love, Howard, and two of their children. Margaret and Howard Lloyd II in heaven. She leaves behind a large family that will miss her dearly! These include two daughters, Jerry Talley of Memphis, TN and Sally Fansher and her husband Mike of OKC; one sister, Ruth Chesnut, Grandbury, TX; and one brother, George Hanshew of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren, Christy and Robert Talley, Leslie Talley Clark, Curt Croom, Jack Croom, Mindi Blanchard and her husband Cary, Missy Parker and her husbnd Jeremy, and Matt Fansher and his wife Bethany; great-grandchildren, William Clark, Kayce Seamster, Justin Croom, Blake, Bayli, and Braeden Blanchard, Austen and Hayden Parker, and Preston and Jayeden Fansher. She was predeceased by sisters, Callie Burkett, Julia Kapraun, Gladys Sherrill, Mary Williams; and brother, Jimmie Hanshew. On Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at her home church of Westminster Presbyterian, we will celebrate her life, as it would have been her 98th birthday! Please join us at 11 a.m. with a reception in the garden room following the service. She has come full circle, starting with God and returning to HIm in His heavenly home. We were blessed immensely with our time with GiGi. Vona and Howard were charter members of the new Westminster Presbyterian Church and were members of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class. Vona was in the Julia Circle. She painted and sewed, snuck frozen cookie dough into all of our stockings at Christmas, tried to win lots of nickels at Bridge, cheered for all of her grand and great-grandkids at their many sporting events, fried mush at all of our family events, while literally shoving fruits and veggies down our throats! She could always find and dig worms to take the grandkids fishing. She was a beautiful woman on the inside and out, showing her beauty with her green thumb - in the most beautiful indoor and outdoor gardens! As her infamous line says 'while you're up'; GiGi, be our guardian angel and continue to lead us in our Christian walk. You have been a wonderful example! WE LOVE YOU ALWAYS!
