In 1981, he was honored by KOCO 5 as one of the first 5 Who Care awardees. In 1990, he and Sandy were the first to receive the prestigious Points of Light award from President George H.W. Bush. He was also devoted to his church and served as a deacon at Witcher Baptist for over 30 years. He served on the Oakdale school board for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Sandy; and granddaughter, Halee. He is survived by his brother, Ival and his wife Norma, of Harrah; daughter, Christi Cline and her husband Scott, of Edmond, OK; son, William Hale, II and his wife Sherri, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Shelley Trulock and her husband Mike, of Mansfield, TX; son, Michael Hale and his wife Sheila, of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Brian Cline, Justin Cline, Hannah Hale, Will Hale, Nicholas Hale, Tanner Cline, Tyler Trulock, Trace Trulock and Ellie Anna Hale; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. There will never be a person as loving and caring as my friend, fellow church member and family doctor, Dr. Hale. He spent many hours helping us find specialists for treating our son, Joe Higdon, when he was hurt so bad in the wreck at Midwest Blvd and Memorial Road. I shall always remember the hours that Dr. Hale and Sandy worked at the Christian Family Health Care Center. My supervisor, Rev. Ed Onley, and all of the staff at the CFHCC worked diligently to help the needy families who depended on the Baptist Mission Center to provide their needs. I appreciate all of the doctors, nurses, pharmacists and office personnel who spent so much of their personal time at the CFHCC. Thank you Cristi, William II, Michael and Shelley for helping your parents in their service to mankind. Keep up the good work! We all miss your dad.

Bill, Christi, Shelli and Mike, your dad was one of the most compassionate Dr. and a wonderful friend. He helped me through some of the most trying health times of my life. Many times he sat on the edge of my hospital bed and prayed for me. I know he has extended my life and greatly enreached it. Our prayers are with you all at this time.

He was a true fighter during these last few years, surprising us all with his positive outlook and humor. Rest in peace, friend.

Doc was our Doctor for over 30 years. He helped us thru many of life's issues. We considered him our friend as well. I know of no doctor who can come close to his caliber. Medical schools should teach the Hale way of caring to future generations. Take comfort in the fact that he is no longer struggling with health issues and that he had been reunited with the love of his life. Our love, thoughts and prayers to his family. Kay & Lori Mahaffey
