David Nuermberger Obituary

David "Dave" Nuermberger
PEWEE VALLEY

David "Dave" Nuermberger, of Pewee Valley, Ky., passed away peacefully on Oct. 29, 2025, while living near his son in Baltimore, Md. Born in Buffalo, N. Y., Dave graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics and later earned an MBA from the University of Louisville. He began his career with IBM in 1963, where he worked for more than two decades before retiring to start an independent consulting business.
In 1966, Dave married the love of his life, Patti, after meeting as next-door neighbors. They were inseparable from that day forward, sharing nearly 58 years of laughter, adventures and devotion before her passing in April 2024. Dave often said that meeting Patti was the best day of his life.
Dave was a man of many interests and pursuits. He loved traveling, investing, golfing, biking and playing cards. A natural performer, Dave found great joy in acting at The Little Colonel Playhouse (LCP), where he also served as past president. He was an active member of Crestwood United Methodist Church and a committed volunteer in support of many causes, including Junior Achievement of Louisville, the LCP and assisting seniors with tax preparation.
Dave was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patti, and his older brother, Carl.
He is survived by his two sons, Eric (Shannon Putman) and Brett (Nicole); and three grandsons, Charlie, Jack and Sam, who will remember him for his wit, warmth and competitive spirit.
Contributions may be made to the Cabbage Patch Settlement House or Home of the Innocents.
