Jacob Davis Obituary

Jacob Kyle Davis, age 15 of Crestwood, passed away on April 3, 2016.
He was born at Ft. Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma on July 5, 2000. He was raised in a military family and had the opportunity to live across the United States and Germany.
Jacob was a student at South Oldham High School where he swam as an eighth-grader, but as a freshman he found his passion when he joined the Marching Band. He was able to find his niche in the band family. He was most at ease amongst the band members and found people with the same passions that he enjoyed. He was a member of Troop 167, Crestwood and had recently achieved the Order of the Arrow. He was also a member of Northeast Christian Church, and was part of the High School Ministry.
Jacob was also a wonderful pianist. He started taking piano lessons in second grade. When his family moved to Oldham County in 2011 he began studying piano at the Oldham County Arts Center. For the last three years he attended the Steven Foster Music Camp where he not only enjoyed his piano music, but also developed other close friendships.
It seemed to be Jacob's gift to bring people together from different parts of his life.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Dawn and Dale Davis; a sister, Stephanie Davis; and a brother, Nathan Davis; Dawn's parents: Al and Barbara Webb, Louisville; Dawn's parents: Dorita and Houston Godfrey, Yorkville IL; Dawn's brother and family: Jeff, Marsha, McKenna and Haley Webb, Crestwood; Dawn's sisters and family: Janet and Joe Cornell, California; Susan Mantel, Daniel and Lauren, Yorkville, Ill.; Dale's parent: Betty Davis, Hopkinsville; and Dale's brother and family: Leroy Davis II, Amber, Rebecca and Sylvia Davis, Dickson, Tenn. He was proceeded in death by Leroy Davis.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 11, at Northeast Christian Church followed by burial in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood. Jacob sat near me my sophomore year in myths and legends I remember after he didnt return from his trip to Disney land and miss free left flowers at his desk everyday. It broke all of our hearts. Rest in peace buddy I know your playing piano in heaven

So sorry to hear about someone so young. He had many more years ahead. May the God of all comfort take hold of your right hand and fortify you and help you at this time of great sorrow. Isa. 41:10
