Roger Wampler Obituary
LA GRANGE
Roger Wampler, age 82, of La Grange, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Originally from Charlestown, Ind., Roger was born to the late Nina and Hillard Wampler in 1943. He graduated from Charlestown High School in 1961 and immediately began his career at the Colgate Palmolive plant where he was a dedicated employee for nearly 35 years. After retiring, he worked several years for the Oldham County Government and Kroger.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Wampler; mother, Nina Wampler; and sisters, Mary Lou Bottorff and Nell Devine.
Left to cherish him in memory are his wife of 46 years, Joyce Wampler; children, Mike Wampler (Debra), Jim Wampler (Janet), Lauren Wampler and Beth Bonn (Brian); grandchildren, Courtney Wampler (Scott), Mason Wampler, Spencer Wampler and Sullivan Bonn; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Those who knew him well enjoyed his colorful personality and his unending desire to draw a laugh. Outside of family, his true loves in life were golf and hunting, especially hunting with his sons and grandsons. We will forever remember the immense love he poured into his family.
A celebration of life will be held from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Mellwood Art Center.

Pops,
Haven't been able to write this until now. I was lucky enough to tell you what a great father you were before you passed. You have taught me and mentored me more than you ever knew. A son could not ask for a better dad. So many great memories that will live me forever. We will have another sip of Henry McKenna together at some point. I love you and I miss you.

Roger will be surely missed! His laugh and sense of humor was truly a honor to have experienced.
Joyce and family were blessed with a good man and we were blessed to have the honor to call him a friend.
We love you Joyce and our hearts are sad but know that he is now free and is our guardian angel.
