La Grange
Shirley Ann Ward Parrish of La Grange was born June 10, 1946, to Fenley Ward and Stella Knight. She passed away surrounded by her loving family Jan. 11, 2022. She spent her life caring for others and was passionate about her family. She loved all of God's creatures, always taking care of or adopting those who were in need of shelter or food.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roy Andrew Parrish; children, Alisa (Terry) Hettinger, Brian (Rena) Parrish and bonus daughter Paulette (Steve) Razzano; brother, Eugen Ward; sister Pam Ward; grandchildren, Kimberly (Lamar) Hoo-Chong, Emily (Dustin) Woods, Nick Hettinger, Ryan Hettinger, Sarah Parrish and Elizabeth Parrish; great grandchildren, Josiah Hettinger, Wesley Woods, Maxwell Woods, Leo Hoo-Chong, Thomas Woods, Jonathan Woods, Max Hoo-Chong and Rosemary Woods.
Pallbearers are her grandchildren: Kimberly Hoo-Chong, Emily Woods, Nick Hettinger, Ryan Hettinger, Sarah Parrish and Elizabeth Parrish.
Funeral was Friday, Jan. 14 at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood with interment in Floydsburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to the Humane Society of Oldham County. Condolences: www.stoessfuneralhome.com.

Alisa and Brian, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom, Shirley.
I will never forget sitting on your back porch as kids and listen to your mom tell us ghost stories.
