Barbara Studley Obituary

PORTVILLE - Barbara J. Studley passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at her home in West Virginia.

Born Nov. 7, 1958, in Olean, the daughter of Roy and Marian Baldwin Studley.

Barb was a graduate of Portville Central School.

She was employed at ACME Electric, and later as a hair stylist for Regis and Fantastic Sam.

She was a past member of Portville Baptist Church.

Barb enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sewing, crafts and a good glass of iced tea.

Survivors include her father, Roy Studley of Portville; her children, Kacey Studley of West Virginia, Jacklyn Sherlock of Florida and twins Nick Sherlock and Cody (Pricilla) Sherlock, both of West Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gary (Michelle) Studley of Bolivar, Leonard (Joan) Studley of Little Genesee and Richard Studley of Olean; one sister, Bonnie Meditz of Portville; several nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Robin Studley of Portville.

She was predeceased by her mother, Marian; and her brother, Kevin Studley.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 21, 2017) in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville. Arrangements are under direction of Guenther Funeral Home Inc.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.
