Remembering how you loved praising and worshiping our Lord :-)

One of my strongest memories of Cheryl is of a dinner at her home. It was a dinner for just the three of us (Rob, I and Cheryl). She made a wonderful meal; she served us Stromboli, a sweet sparkling wine and home-made dessert. She prepared us a very nice dinner with thought and love. I remember feeling so grown-up. It seemed silly for me to feel this, but I felt treated and respected as an adult. I vaguely remember looking through books or photo albums and talking about ourselves. She even gave me her Stromboli recipe and showed me the wine bottle and explained how they made it sparkling. I had not known Cheryl very long, but that dinner started a wonderful relationship for the three of us.
Through the years we got together many times. I remember driving down to visit her in Coudersport and Wellsville. I loved the tree lined streets and the shops on the main street. During these times I got to know Dean and Jean. Sitting in the kitchen or living room or patio and talking. And they got to meet my kids. Balloon festivals and custom fireworks displays by Dean! Chris still remembers the backyard fireworks, Dean.
The hand decorated light switch cover Cheryl made for Chris remains on the wall. It says Chris' Room in beautiful script, and has blue ducks on it. And outside our house there is a gnarled tree root we brought from Rochester. She made a fun decoration with the tree root and candles. It was perfect for our rustic farmhouse in Valentown. It is so wonderful to have these little reminders we see every so often at our home. Wonderful memories of a wonderful person.
I have many memories of Cheryl and the times we were together. Memories I can play in my mind. I can even still hear her laugh. Such wonderful gifts she gave to me that I will have forever. We will all miss her, and like you I am grateful to have known her.

Cheryl and I attended elementary school together at Allentown Union School. She was always a kind, considerate person whose warm smile greeted everyone. The Perry and Erwin families moved into the duplex in Allentown where my maternal grandparents once resided. My condolences to her family. She left too soon.

I worked with Cheryl a long time ago at the newspaper. She was always predictable in her steadfastness and always had that sweet smile. Later, I saw her in the bank almost every week. We will miss you Cheryl! Abbie Pritchard
