Deanna Chase Obituary

GREAT VALLEY - Deanna L. Chase, 83, of Great Valley, died Tuesday evening (Oct. 7, 2025) at the Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Houghton, following a short illness.

Born Sept. 28, 1942, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Geraldine Zimmerman Hicks. She was married to Russell Chase, who predeceased her in 2005.

She was a graduate of Ellicottville High School, Class of 1960. 

She was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Medical Corps, serving stateside.

Deanna had been employed with Larimer Norton & Sons in Ellicottville for over 21 years, retiring in 1990. 

She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, crafts, reading and watching her TV shows. She was a member of the American Legion Post 659, Ellicottville.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Chase of Montana and Margaret Chase Missouri; three sons, David (Diane) Chase of Salamanca, Mark Chase and Raymond (Felicia) Chase, both of Great Valley; a sister, Linda (William) Lutz of Kentucky; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Natalie) Hicks and Lewis Hicks, both of Ellicottville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

As per Deanna's wishes, there will be no visitation.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
