Donald Murray Obituary
CUBA - Donald B. Murray, 72, of Haskell Road, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, after a long illness.
Born Dec. 13, 1952, in Belmont, he was the son of Dianne Trowbridge Murray. On Sept. 24, 2019, in Florida, he married Cathy L. Havers, who survives.
Donald began working as a welder at the former Clark Bros. in Olean, later working as a truck driver for various companies including Portville Forest Products, where he supervised a crew of loggers, and for Buffalo Engine Co. when he lived in Orchard Park. His job brought him to many parts of the United States.
He was a lifelong outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Cathy; his mother, Dianne of Bolivar; one son, Ben (Danielle) Murray of Bolivar; one daughter, Beth Murray of Bolivar; six grandsons, Tyler Murray, Ryan Witter, Kyle Witter, Hunter Murray, Chase Murray and Dustin Murray; one granddaughter, Jontelle Pennington; one sister, Judy McVay of Buffalo; two stepdaughters, Tammy Lanier of Olean and Tonya Borton of Limestone; seven step-grandchildren; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Murray.
The family invites friends to a celebration of Donald's life beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing through the afternoon on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at the Richburg Rod and Gun Club, 2350 Route 275, Richburg.
Arrangements are with the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
