Elva V. Gross, loving mother and grandmother

CUBA --- Elva V. Gross, 97, formerly of 7190 Rawson Rd, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Cuba Memorial Hospitals Palliative Care Unit after a lengthy illness.

Born on June 11, 1925, in Bradford, she was a daughter of Archie J. and Rozaily O. Sherwood Randolph. On January 10, 1942, in the First Baptist Church parsonage she married Clyde A. Gross who predeceased her in June 26, 1979.

In addition to being a homemaker she farmed with her husband for 39 years.

She was a member of the Cuba First Baptist Church and its women's group, the Home Bureau in Lyndon, the Rawson Ladies Aide Society, McKee-Tristar Chapter 242 O.E.S, and had been past president of the Rushford Senior Citizens and Cuba Senior Citizens.

Elva enjoyed crafts, plaster canvas, babysitting, and cooking. Quite often her table would be filled with 30 plus people for dinner.

She is survived by five Sons Jack R. (Donna) Gross of Avoca, Russell J. (Debbie) Gross of Cuba, David L. (Christine) Gross of Cicero, Daniel B. Gross of Cuba, Randy D. (Debbie) Gross of Queensbury, NY, a daughter Darlene A. (Donald) Taylor of Kansas City, KS; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and step grandchildren; a special sister-in-law Gerry Randolph of Livonia.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her siblings; Howard, Harold, Robert, Leonard, Leo, Wayne, Leon, Nellie, and two infant siblings.

The family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 1-3 P.M. followed by funeral services at 3:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Gross, Elva's son, officiating.

Burial will be in White Cemetery, Rushford, New York.
